It’s been great to be back on blogging after a long time. Time for a movie review for a Bollywood movie called “2 States”. Movie cast is the new grossing talent Arjun Kapoor and Alia Bhatt. Movie is based on the story of the Chetan Bhagat’s book “2 states: The Story of my Marriage”. It’s another great movie to watch the two different cultures of the India collaborating to a unity in diversity.
I am very impressed with the overall performance of the all movie cast. It’s a real effort to bring the best shots to visualize and record a real story from the printed books. I cannot comment on the book story extraction in the movie as I am not a big book reading guy. Hence, I haven’t read the book by the Chetan Bhagat.
Anyways, come back to the movie presentation, firstly the acting by the main cast Arjun Kapoor and Alia Bhatt has been the center of the nucleus in the movie. The romantic love story revolved around them smoothly with very good songs like “Offo”, “Mast Magan” and “Chandaniya”. The movie becomes interesting when the involvement of their parents comes in the movie. I can describe it as the clash of their parents.
Role of their parents including the special act by the Ronit Roy makes the movie more interesting towards the climax. Revathi and Amrita Singh after a long time make a good appearance on the screen with the bang of typical Indian parents with the melodrama. There are other roles in the movie has not make a big impact on the mind than the role of daughter father acted by Shivkumar Subramaniam.
There are many funny moments in the movie which makes you laugh and some sad moments which impacts on you with great art of acting. I have surprised by the movie does not has any part of period where I can yawn. Though most of the time I do yawn in the Bollywood movies. The movie length is around 2 hours and 30 minutes which is very much average time of any Bollywood Movie.
There are some important times when you see the best of the Indian culture methods of living and transport. You can witness two Indian culture weddings in the movie. And the cruel rituals of Indian wedding like “Dawry” has been given the perfect resolution to the viewers.
